    OSHA 10 Training
    Oct 28, 2020

Local 46’s Borrow Our OSHA Trainer application for an OSHA 10 General Entertainment Safety class has been approved for December 7-11, 2020. Please see attached for a flyer for the class that you can distribute to your workers. The CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE → sentence within the flyer is hyperlinked to the Google Forms application where they can sign up. Further down in this email, under enrollment process, is the step by step explanation. Participants must log in on time each day, stay for the duration of the session, and attend all 5 days to earn their OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Safety and Health card.

Class attendance must meet a minimum of 15 students and 20 students is maximum we are allowing. If you have more than 20 sign ups, we’ll put them on a waitlist. If you don’t think you’ll be able to meet the 15-person minimum, we can contact other locals to see if they have any workers interested in signing up. I’ll check in with you about 2 weeks before the course to let you know how many have signed up and completed the registration process.

This class is only open to TTF beneficiaries, which means participants must be active IATSE members or currently working under an IATSE agreement.  You will be asked to verify the eligibility of participants who do not show up in the IATSE member database before they can receive the GoToTraining registration email.

Participants will receive a digital scan of their OSHA 10 card about a month after they complete the course and their physical card will be mailed shortly after that.

    Course Dates:

    Monday, December 7 – Friday, December 11, 2020

    Daily Course Time:

    7:30am – 10:30am PT

    8:30am – 11:30am MT

    9:30am – 12:30pm CT

    10:30am – 1:30pm ET

    Enrollment Process:

    1. Those interested in attending should fill out the online application located here.

    2. Once we’ve verified they are eligible for TTF benefits, they will receive an email with a registration link from applications@iatsetrainingtrust.org.

    3. They will use the link provided in that email to register for the course on the GoToTraining website.

    4. They will then receive a confirmation email from GoToTraining (customercare@gototraining.com) when they have successfully enrolled in the course.

    DID YOU KNOW?

We now offer reimbursement to individuals for OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 General Industry Safety and Health and Construction Safety and Health online trainings! This pilot program reimburses IATSE workers who do not have access to a live OSHA 10/GES, OSHA 10, or OSHA 30 course. We are expanding this program while no live courses being offered.

You must obtain a 10-hour or 30-hour General Industry or Construction OSHA card from the approved OSHA-Authorized Online Outreach Training Providers listed on OSHA’s website. OSHA encourages interested students to research multiple vendors on the provided list to determine which program best suits their training needs. Only online trainings from these OSHA-authorized organizations are reimbursable.

The TTF is working on a pilot that will allow for courses approved for support through the Course Reimbursement program to be offered via a distance learning platform. This means teachers would not need to travel and students can participate in the approved course remotely. Keep in mind this will only work for courses without a hands on portion and where instructors are able to adapt their courses to this medium.

We are doing everything we can so locals are still able to offer courses to members in the safest possible way under the current circumstances.

As soon as we have this in place, we will make the details available and be in touch with locals that have approved Course Reimbursement applications.

TRAIN THE TRAINER: TEACHING & PRESENTATION TECHNIQUES

We are also working on a pilot that will allow us to offer Train the Trainer: Teaching Techniques in a distance learning format that will allow learners to participate remotely and not have to travel to a location to take the course. We will post more information as soon as we are able to set up our platform, schedule, and launch a pilot session.
